Sensex, Nifty trade in narrow range, close flat

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Mar 14 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices traded in a narrow range on Thursday with financial stocks leading the gains.

Yes Bank Ltd gained 2.78 per cent on the National Stock Exchange while IndusInd Bank was up 2.16 per cent at the closing bell.

Reliance Industries was up 1.1 per cent to an all-time high of Rs 1,361.45.

The BSE S&P Sensex wound up the day 2.7 points up at 36,755 while the NSE Nifty 50 inched up 1.5 points at 11,343.

Among other gainers were Indiabulls Housing Finance and Indian Oil Corporation while the losers included Hero MotorCorp, HCL Technologies, Dr Reddy Labs, and Adani Ports.

Meanwhile, Asian shares were mixed as investors reacted cautiously to the mixed data from Beijing. Chinese shares dropped after reports said the country’s industrial output expanded at the slowest pace in 17 years. But retail sales and fixed asset investment grew.

The status of US-China trade talks also disappointed market experts after President Donald Trump said he was in no rush to complete the trade deal on tariff issues. (ANI)
