News: Ethiopian Airlines launches Manchester-Addis Ababa connection, via Brussels


Ethiopian Airlines will commence flights from their second UK destination next week with a four-times-a-week service from Manchester to Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian flies to more destinations in Africa than any other carrier and will operate the ultramodern Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route to Addis with lie-flat business class and economy class.

The first flight leaves Manchester Airport on December 11th, initially transiting via Brussels.

The service to Addis Ababa will operate on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

It will depart from Terminal 2 at 18:05, arriving at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport at 06:45, providing significant onward connectivity options to the African continent. 

Return flights depart Addis Ababa at 00:45 and arrives in Manchester at 07:20 and have been scheduled to provide convenient connectivity with flights from African continent in to Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian Airlines UK country manager, Michael Yohannes, said: “We are excited to commence our new service from Manchester on December 11th.

Along with the ten existing flights from Heathrow, inauguration of a four weekly Manchester service makes Africa even more accessible along with some excellent connectivity from/to UK regional airports in conjunction with FlyBe, particularly Glasgow and Edinburgh.

“Passengers can look forward to convenient onward connections from Addis Ababa and unparalleled comfort on-board our Boeing 787 Dreamliner along of course with our traditional Ethiopian hospitality.”
