Kevin Durant Is GQ's 2017 Champion of the Year
The man who broke the NBA.
Yeah, you could say that Kevin Durant had a pretty good year. After storming into the playoffs with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the rest of the god-mode Golden State Warriors, Durant added a couple fresh bullet points to his resumé: Finals MVP and NBA champion. In true KD style, he made domination look easy—but that doesn’t mean it was.
For his Men of the Year cover story, Kevin Durant brought GQ writer Zach Baron to Delhi, India just six short weeks after earning his first (and almost certainly not last) championship ring. KD talked about everything from getting heckled by a court-side pop goddess to the intimacy of Jay-Z’s 4:44 and how he’s had to develop the ability to separate truth from trash: “I know right from wrong. You call bullshit like you see it. You just call bullshit.”
